why did this get a tick?

Byne May 25, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Because a whale is fine too

Mathless May 26, 2010 at 12:17 am

and because math is about trying now, not about learning.

Guise May 26, 2010 at 5:03 am

Guys. Sometimes a teacher uses a ‘tick’ for wrong answers, not right ones.

They count the wrong answers (ticks) and then use that to get the score.

Cute whale. I’d draw something really freakey and scary.

georgy June 1, 2010 at 8:53 am

I dunno… this could’ve been a test graded by my Freshman Algebra teacher Mr. Attar… He’d be distracted from teaching if you brought up animals, particularly barnyard ones. One guy I knew supposedly got an A on a test despite simply writing “The cow goes ‘moo’!” for every answer just to see what would happen if he did. Thankfully he’s been sacked since then (for completely unrelated reasons, oddly).

ThatissoCOOL June 16, 2010 at 6:03 pm

That is awesome
the whale lol

Smarterthanu June 22, 2010 at 10:21 pm

The reason the whale got a tick was because it was CORRECT, the fountainblow on the whale is actually the algebraic equation plotted. Doesn’t anyone think before they post??

anang July 7, 2010 at 3:09 pm

the kid was so frustrated and the teacher was about being more frustrated i guess…!!!

Laplace July 12, 2010 at 3:54 am

The question doesn’t make any sense; that’s why he got a tick. And the whale is kind of a twitter whale; twitter whales appear when something goes wrong on the twitter servers.

Harrison shen July 12, 2010 at 6:08 pm

whoed you get it right

Xion July 22, 2010 at 5:43 pm

I don’t get it, check for a whale? Byne, how does a whale work?
NEway, Cool whale!

William July 29, 2010 at 10:16 am

I graded a first semester calculus exam in which one answer had a whale suspiciously similar to that. I was quite impressed by the artwork – I gave it 1 point out of however many (something on the order of 10).

Emil August 1, 2010 at 4:55 pm

Wow Totz, i wish my teacher felt the same about farmyard animals!

Hilncore August 18, 2010 at 2:07 am

Luv the whale! Next time draw a sea monster and an ugly one!

Aaron August 26, 2010 at 1:48 pm

This kid wasted marks on a perfectly easy math question. It’s an inequation problem :/

Emil September 14, 2010 at 12:00 am

Emil…

Whale

Farmyard animal?

Fuck w/e

Gorgonzola February 11, 2011 at 10:55 am

shouldn’t need to solve any problem to show that all the zeros lie between 3 and -3: there is only one zero, and it definitely does.

Ryan April 28, 2011 at 5:35 am

This is clearly photoshopped, look around the check mark… its pixelated in a different fashion then the rest of the image.

Fail.

blair May 16, 2011 at 8:29 pm

???????????????? how did u get that shit right?

Duh May 23, 2011 at 1:43 pm

You people are tards. That equation crosses the x axis multiple times and the teacher wants them to prove it does so only between x=-3 and x=3

wael July 12, 2011 at 1:50 pm

no you fools the -3 is the whales mouth and the other 3 is the tail . the zero is the eye

im doing timmys mom right now July 21, 2011 at 1:57 pm

take that timmy

Cassidy August 3, 2011 at 2:57 am

At my school checks mean wrong answers, it’s probably wrong.

Hoody August 10, 2011 at 2:15 pm

To those of you that need a math lesson, the zeroes being referred to in the question are the roots (also known as x intercepts or zeroes). It’s the place where the function, when graphed, would go through the x axis.

god September 24, 2011 at 2:31 am

wow if it isnt obvious, thats not even the question, theres more on the other side of the paper, thats whats suppose to be answered…..

ugh November 30, 2011 at 12:02 am

You guys are fucking idiots, a check mark means it”s wrong, FUCK.
